Color is the company's industry. Hover or tap a box for details.
By account
Share of total value held at each broker, cash included.
By industry
Share of total value in each industry. Crypto and cash are their own groups.
Average cost vs current price
Open circle is your average cost; filled dot is the price now. Green is above cost, red below. The scale is logarithmic, so equal distances are equal percentage moves.
Concentration curve
Running share of value held by your largest positions, largest first. The dashed line is what equal weights would look like.
By company size
Market capitalization of each stock you hold.
Where the gains and losses come from
Unrealized gain or loss in dollars for each position.

How these figures are worked out
Value
Quantity times the latest price. Stock prices come from Finnhub and refresh about every 30 seconds while the US market is open; crypto prices come from Coinbase.
Weight
A position's value divided by total value, cash included.
Effective holdings
1 divided by the sum of squared weights. It is the number of equal-sized positions that would be as concentrated as yours; higher means more spread out.
Invested
The cost basis of the positions you hold now, as reported in your broker files. It doesn't include money you've withdrawn or past sales.
Liquid value
Current value of your positions plus cash: roughly what you'd have if you sold everything at today's prices, before taxes and fees.
Gain/loss
Unrealized: value now minus the cost basis in your uploaded file. Positions without a cost in the file show no gain.
Not included
Options and other contracts are skipped on upload. Money-market funds count as cash.
Accounts
Upload a positions file for each broker. A new upload replaces that account's previous positions.

How to export positions from each broker
Robinhood
Robinhood's website has no positions download. Fill in the HoldingView template (download template) with Symbol, Quantity and Avg Cost, or ask Claude to produce it from your Robinhood connection.
Charles Schwab
Accounts → Positions, then the export icon at the top right of the table. Choose CSV.
Fidelity
Accounts & Trade → Portfolio → Positions, then Download (the arrow icon).
Interactive Brokers
Performance & Reports → Statements → Activity statement, format CSV. HoldingView reads the Open Positions section. Exporting the Portfolio view from TWS to CSV also works.
Any other broker
Any positions CSV with Symbol and Quantity columns works; a Cost Basis or Average Cost column adds gain and loss.
Broker menus change from time to time; look for "positions" and "export" or "download".
What happens to your file
In your browser
Before anything is sent, HoldingView removes account numbers, account and owner names, and any email, phone or ID-like values, plus title and footer lines.
On the server
The same cleanup runs again as a backstop. The file is held only in memory, never written to disk, and is overwritten as soon as the positions are read.
What is kept
Only symbol, quantity, cost and cash for each account.
On your device
The original download stays wherever your browser saved it. Delete it there once it's uploaded if you don't want a copy.
